In wedding planning, musical entertainment is sometimes considered as a surplus to which to devote the last attentions. In reality, the proposals that can be found reach far and wide, representing a truly important element in the characterization of your reception.

Music, in fact, is not just a background for the day, but rather a supporting element that can make the difference between a softer, elegant, romantic or wild wedding that fully reflects your tastes and desires.

So before choosing your musical entertainment try to define the mood of your wedding. Once that's done...off to the dancing!

Music during the Rite

Music, we all know, is capable of arousing deep and unforgettable emotions. That is why at a moment as romantic as the rite, it is advisable to provide a musical accompaniment that emphasizes all the highlights, such as the bride and groom's entrances, and fills in the quiet ones, such as the moment of signatures or waiting in the church.

Whether your ceremony is religious or civil or symbolic, the violin is definitely the instrument par excellence at this stage of the event, but you can also opt for a duo with harp and cello, a string trio or quartet, or even a solo singer.

If your ceremony will take place in a church, an indicated repertoire will be opted for, which should be shared with the religious officiant.

The aperitif: a soft reception to welcome you

The first musical foray of the reception occurs during the aperitif. At this stage of the reception, the guests, having arrived at the location, begin to settle in, exchange a few small talk between a prosecco and a canapé. During this reception, music that is too preponderant will therefore be discouraged. You may opt in this case for one or two instruments, such as sax and violin, which can perform as a duo or alternate in the different songs. If you have, on the other hand, chosen a band to accompany your reception, it can perform a soft repertoire that is not overly overpowering, thus offering a musical crescendo in the second part of the event.

Everyone at the table. Music during serving

During the serving there are two solutions that can be adopted depending on the type of event you want to organize.

The first is to provide a gentle piped music that does not leave the room bare of background music, but can provide the opportunity for chatting and allow the bride and groom to wander around the tables, toast with guests or allow some speeches from witnesses or relatives.

If, on the other hand, your wedding idea is distinctly more focused on the desire to impress and engage guests, the Dinner Show is the ideal solution.

The Dinner Show involves two or more musical outings that are held at the end of each course to surprise guests in a musical and artistic crescendo. The exits can be themed with changes in repertoire and costumes, alternating two or more artists, who will arrive, at the last exit, to make all the guests dance and have fun. Guaranteed success.

The choice of musicians and singers involved in the Dinner Show can vary depending on the preferences of the bride and groom. From a trio consisting of violin, sax and vocals to a singer with backing vocalists accompanied by sax, or even a duo of voices, male and female, you are spoiled for choice.

The cutting of the wedding cake and the post cake party

After the serving is over, and before the dancing opens, there is usually the cake cutting, another very exciting moment of the wedding.

After the cake cutting, the bride and groom's first dance begins to warm up the atmosphere. At this point it is time to go wild with modern or vintage songs, rock or pop, songs that have made music history and contemporary hits the important thing is that the rhythm is upbeat and bubbly.

If you have hired a band, their repertoire can surely accompany you at this stage of the reception with an escalation of rhythms and music.

Djset yes or Djset no?

Who says DJ sets are only recommended for disco fans? A good DJ will be able to offer varied entertainment that can span the various decades of dance music, pop and beyond, in a musical journey through time that will make adults, older and very young dance.

Surely the DJ Set represents a perfect closing for your event, dampening the fun after the cake cutting could really be a shame.

The duration of the DJ performance will obviously need to be budgeted. Venues have time limits to which the performers also adhere. For those who want to have a no-limits wedding, they can ask all parties involved about their willingness to extend the timings so as not to leave guests high and dry right at the time of maximum fun.

Tips

The choice of music will be based on two important considerations: your musical tastes and the type of wedding you are organizing.

During a wedding it is always advisable to offer a variety of music in order to involve all the guests. For example, if you choose a band specialized in rock or Revival music for the aperitif and after-service, you can continue the evening with a DJ who offers a broader musical path.
